Dick Weiss

Dick Weiss. He has 33 years of writing and editing experience. He was a metro editor and writing coach at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, where he introduced narrative writing. He founded WeissWrite LLC in 2003.

His session: "Making your stories sing: Techniques songwriters use to tell stories"
His work: Dick's Picks, WeissWrite, frequent speaker at the American Press Institute

Phoebe Claggett. She is a 20-year-old singer/songwriter from St. Louis.

Her work: Poster on the Wall, available on iTunes.

Louise Kiernan. She is a reporter for the Chicago Tribune. She was the lead writer for "Gateway to Gridlock," which won a 2001 Pulitzer Prize. She was a finalist for a Pulitzer for a story about a woman killed by a piece of falling glass. She was a 2005 Nieman fellow.

Her session: "Making sense out of complex subjects"
