Jacqui Banaszynski

She's the Knight Chair in Editing at the University of Missouri and an editing fellow at. She's a former editor at The Seattle Times and a former reporter at the St. Paul Pioneer Press Dispatch. She won a Pulitzer Prize for her 1988 series, "AIDS in the Heartland."

Gene Cryer. He worked as a journalist for 38 years -- 15 of which as editor and vice president at the South Florida Sun-Sentinel -- before retiring and continuing his focus on writing. Since he started work on his novel, he's been a professor (at Florida Atlantic University) and a workshop instructor (for the Florida Center for the Book) and is now president of the Writers' Network of South Florida.
