inexpensive book or look up a free, online tutorial.

Use what you have learned by starting a Web site or by using it in a blog.
It seems unlikely you will really max out on HTML, but a little knowledge will make you feel more comfortable in that environment and can help you do some basic creations or trouble-shooting.
