Denis Hamill complains about TV execs who plop nonjournalists in front of microphones, point cameras at them and tell them they're now journalists. "The guys delivering the so-called news on TV gab shows these days are the same guys Woodward and Bernstein investigated," he writes. "These are smart and savvy and entertaining people. But they aren't journalists. They are political 'players.' They are All the President's Men. And now all of them want to be regarded as members of the same guild as real reporters like Woodward and Bernstein, who took down all the President's men with real reporting."
