Chicago Tribune | Editor & PublisherAnn Marie Lipinski says her decision to resign was "a long time coming and it would be inaccurate to attribute it to any one event."
Gerould W. Kern, Tribune Publishing's vice president of editorial since 2003, was named her successor. Lipinski, who joined the paper as an intern in 1978 and was named editor in 2001,
tells her staff that she's become accustomed and even comfortable with managing through crisis and change, "but professionally, this position is not the fit it once was."
