Steve Levy says
Rupert Murdoch called on Monday "to tell me that he is looking to ink a deal within the next two weeks to purchase Newsday and wanted to start a working relationship."
Mort Zuckerman's reps insist the Daily News owner is still in the running. "This is not a done deal," says one. "The News will be submitting an additional formal proposal by the end of the week."
