Some people close to Katie Couric believe it's now likely she won't remain as anchor through the election, and might even leave in the next few weeks. One associate says Couric is "annoyed at all the stories being leaked about her. But she's not angry. You could say she's in a good position now. She's got zero to lose." The Times reports CBS bosses are considering Harry Smith and Bob Schieffer as possible interim anchors.
