Robert J. Rosenthal, who
left his managing editor post at the San Francisco Chronicle in June, has been named executive director of the Center for Investigative Reporting. Since 1977, CIR has produced hundreds of investigations for print, television, radio and web and is best known for its co-productions with PBS "Frontline."
