In recent months, there have been at least three different waterboarding descriptions in the paper but none provided the understanding the word deserves, says ombud Tim McNulty (second column item). So this description was chosen: "Waterboarding is an interrogation technique that makes a prisoner believe he is in imminent danger of drowning." || The Tribune's Randy Weissman discussed the description with Brooke Gladstone on last weekend's "On the Media."
