Chicago Reader
A lawsuit filed in December by one of the four Chicago Reader founders accused the weekly's officers of acting against him in a way that was "illegal, oppressive or fraudulent."
Michael Miner writes: "The suit had confronted the other owners with the prospect of paying a small fortune in legal fees to defend themselves and the Reader. Nobody had the stomach for that." A former Reader owner tells him: "It would be overstating it to say [the suit] forced
the sale, but it certainly encouraged it."
