Goldberg notes: "Woodward's position in Washington is such that his view will likely be seen as the definitive word on George Tenet's career, and certainly on his memoir." WOODWARD SAYS: "I've always kept a real distance [from Tenet] I never went to his house, never socialized at all. I maybe went to one party or two while he was there. I don't want to belabor the point, but Maureen Dowd was complaining that Tenet socialized with Woodward and now Woodward's acting like a meanie."
