Times publisher Arthur Sulzberger Jr. has been talking with financial adviser and old friend Steven Rattner about the Times' future. Last spring, Rattner met with members of the Ochs-Sulzberger family and gave various strategic alternatives, including a leveraged buyout, for the company. Rattner and Sulzberger continue to talk informally about the possibility of the Times going private, sources tell Tom Lowry and Jon Fine.
