Ted Venetoulis, who is leading a group of prominent Baltimoreans who want to buy the Sun, asked Tribune for permission to look at the paper's financials and begin performing due diligence in order to put together a bid. Tribune denied his request, saying it's still seeking a single buyer for all of its properties.
