Mark Fainaru-Wada and
Lance Williams were ordered jailed Thursday for up to 18 months, pending an appeal, for refusing to reveal who leaked them secret grand jury testimony from
Barry Bonds and other athletes. U.S. District Judge
Jeffrey White rejected a request by the reporters' lawyers to impose fines instead. About 50 journalists, some wearing T-shirts that read, "Sportswriters for Freedom of the Press," demonstrated outside the courthouse in support of the newsmen. || Read statements from
