After meeting with New Mexico Gov. Bill Richardson, the president of Sudan agreed to release Chicago Tribune reporter Paul Salopek and his driver and interpreter on Saturday. "Most important, these three men will return home safely to be with their families, friends and colleagues who were relentless in their appeals to have them freed." || Tribune memo: "This is a wonderful development, and we will all be thrilled and relieved once Paul is finally on board Gov. Richardson's plane and on his way home."
