Here's a new item for your online-media toolbox:
the microformat. This nifty way to use XML helps make content easier to find, mix, mash, and distribute in surprisingly sophisticated ways. I think this approach to organizing and delivering content could have broad implications for news and media.
Like what? Well, earlier I mentioned the recent launch of BlogBuy, a new free online classifieds service that works very similarly to Edgeio (also mentioned here).
On Feb. 28, Silicon Beat clarified: "BlogBuy supports hLlisting, a proposed microformat that standardizes the way classified ads appear on the Web so that they can be more easily discovered and indexed by search engines and crawlers."
