tells PaidContent.org that the
Times has purchased Blogrunner, a website that's home to "
The Annotated Times," a cool site that's been around a while but that I'm just catching up to.
The site makes it easy to find bloggers who are commenting about (and linking to) stories from that day's editions of the
Times. You can subscribe to RSS feeds by topics covered in the newspaper.
The
Times
purchase is an example of how the mainstream media are beginning to
embrace a strategy of connecting to Web conversations that orbit their
content. Other examples: the purchase by three newspaper companies of
Topix.net and the
Washington Post's deal with
Technorati that places blog links adjacent to stories on the
Post website.
