The White House has started experimenting with blogging. |
It's only "a little bit of a blog," according to Press Secretary
Dana Perino, but hey -- the White House is finally blogging, just like the rest of us!
Trip Notes From The Middle East featured items on Jan. 8 and 9 from President Bush's visit to Israel and the Palestinian Territories. Stops in five other Middle East countries will follow.
If you're looking for keen geopolitical insight, this may not be the place to go. But it's kinda fun to sit in with Dana, who blogged the first two items. Later she may be joined by White House Chief of Staff Josh Bolten and National Security Adviser Stephen Hadley.
Just some of the little gems you'll find:
- "As we descended into Tel Aviv, many of us looked out the window to see a country that some of us have only seen in pictures.
- "There's always a lot of activity on the flight over -- some people read briefing papers, work on last-minute logistical issues, suggest edits to the President's remarks... and others, like me, stake out territory to get some sleep on the overnight flight.
- "We ate dinner while watching the New Hampshire primary returns come in... but I fell asleep before the networks called the Democratic primary.
Is this the beginning of something... insightful? From the Bush White House?
"We'll see how it goes, and then we may do it in the future as well," Perino said in this Jan 8 post by Klaus Marre of The Hill.
(Editor's note: Not surprisingly, this White House blog does not take comments.)
