Sometimes Only 3D Gives the Full Picture

3F.dk
3D animation and other multimedia tell the story of how a Danish work fell 35 feet while cleaning a glass ceiling.
My old friend Jesper Berg, who works for 3F.dk, one of the largest union Web sites in Denmark, recently published a new sub-site about an accident: while cleaning the glass ceiling at the Gentofte town hall in Copenhagen, a worker fell 35 feet.

The presentation includes articles, video interviews, audio slideshows, and 360-degree photographs. Most importantly, it starts off with a 3D presentation showing how the accident happened.

There's no doubt that video makes this story much more compelling than a normal magazine story could be. You really feel for the worker when he tells his story: "Allah -- Spare My Life."

Most Tidbits readers probably doesn't understand Danish, but just take a look at the picture on the home page and click the "play" arrow. Then you'll understand -- and almost feel -- what happened.

Don't just take my word for it. Yesterday, online news maven Rob Curley called it "one of the most interesting examples of multimedia storytelling I've ever seen."
