The Nokia N800: Not a bad blogging and browsing tool, says one reader. |
The Internet is getting increasingly mobile, but so far mobile net devices have been clunky and frustrating to use. But that's changing.
Ezra Shaprio, journalism teacher at California State Northridge, recently wrote in about the Nokia N800 mini-tablet (which lists for $400). This sort of device could be the wave of the future.

Shapiro says, "It operates on wifi and can connect via Bluetooth to a cell phone for wider connectivity, or to a keyboard for easier data entry. It's not perfect, but it's pocketable. It runs a good browser and feed reader in an 800 by 480 screen. It's great for scanning news venues, and it's not a bad blogging tool.
"Of course, we'll also see the Apple iPhone at the end of the month with similar functionality if a smaller display. These are much more advanced than the SMS/MP3 phones my students use. Increased product visibility is going to shake up the definition of news delivery."
