Dan Gillmor, seen here at the 2005 Gnomedex conference, will tackle citizen journalism and other topics in a live discussion this Wednesday.
Here are a couple of upcoming events that might interest Tidbits readers:

Wed., Mar. 21, 7:30-9:30 p.m. Pacific: The Center for Citizen Media kicks off its new "Conversation Series" of interactive live/online discussions with a talk by Dan Gillmor on "citizen journalism, emerging media forms, ethics and standards, and the interplay between mainstream media and bloggers." Moderator: JD Lasica. If you in Silicon Valley, you might want to stop by and participate in person at the Community Media Center in Palo Alto. Cost: $8.

Apr. 26, Los Angeles:ContentNext (which owns paidContent.org and other online ventures) is hosting its first conference: The Economics of Social Media, at the Beverly Hilton. They've got a pretty impressive speaker lineup. Early bird registration: $495 before Apr. 20. (Price goes up by $200 after that.)
