Pinochet Dies: The View from Chilean Media

Pinochet
La Tercera
Chilean news sites such as La Tercera are brimming with special content about Pinochet's death.
Former Chilean ruler Augusto Pinochet has died. Around the world, mainstream media is bearing the news (CNN, BBC).

In Chile, news sites (all in Spanish) are exploring different ways to tell this story. They're creating special editions and mini-sites, ranging from audio files to comments on a crowded blog.

La Tercera has published a special site with news, photos, and Flash animations to explain the series of illnesses the old general suffered from until they caused his death.

Emol.com offers photos, videos and texts, and also a weblog with many comments on every post.

Cooperativa (a radio network) has selected audio, while and Terra (a portal) has added to the mix a page full of photo galleries.
