Convergence, Collaboration: South African National Arts Festival

For the first time in South African history the editor of a print publication is podcasting a national event.

The Grahamstown Festival site is a collaborative blog and podcast from the second-largest arts festival in the world, held annually in Grahamstown, South Africa. Jonathan Ancer (editor of Grocott's Mail) and I are teaming up to podcast this 10-day event.

This is a first for the South African print media, which tends to be conservative about online publishing. We see this as an opportunity to exploit the lack of stringent content gatekeeping that comes with the blogging process.
