The
Las Vegas Sun urged bystanders to send pictures of the Monte Carlo fire right to Flickr, and they did.

It is sort of amazing how often
people post hotel fire alarm videos on YouTube. I even found
one from 2006, shot when fire alarms went off at the Monte Carlo, the same hotel that was damaged today.

Some news reports said that when the fire broke out, MGM Mirage's stock fell on Wall Street; the theory was that the fire raised old emotions.
But when you look at the hour-by-hour performance of the stock, it seems the stock was already moving downward before the fire started.
