Former White House Press Secretary Tony Snow Dies
Tony Snow, former press secretary for President Bush, has died at the age of 53.

Washington Times
Washington Times coverage of Tony Snow's death
Snow began his journalism career writing editorials at what was then The (Greensboro) Record. He worked as an editorial writer and editor for years, until he became President George H.W. Bush's director of speechwriting and deputy assistant for media affairs. Snow was also a nationally syndicated columnist before serving as the original host of "Fox News Sunday" from 1996 to 2003. He became President George W. Bush's third press secretary when he replaced Scott McClellan in 2006. Snow's White House tenure was interrupted by colon cancer, the same disease that killed his mother. He resigned as press secretary in September 2007.

Page One Today on Tony Snow's death
Bush issued a statement Saturday morning, after Snow died, that said, in part:
Tony was one of our Nation's finest writers and commentators. He earned a loyal following with incisive radio and television broadcasts. He was a gifted speechwriter who served in my father's Administration. And I was thrilled when he agreed to return to the White House to serve as my Press Secretary. It was a joy to watch Tony at the podium each day. He brought wit, grace, and a great love of country to his work. His colleagues will cherish memories of his energetic personality and relentless good humor.
Snow is survived by his wife and children.
